Michaela Colombo, Ed.D., is a Mashpee Select Board member. She also represents the Town of Mashpee at Barnstable County as an Assembly Delegate.
Michaela is a life-long Massachusetts resident. She spent over 30 years summering in the Mashpee area with family and friends. Mashpee’s natural environment, cultural diversity, and its small-town feel won her heart. She and her husband Paul began searching for their Mashpee forever home around 10 years ago. This year they celebrate their seventh anniversary as Mashpee homeowners.
Michaela has been a teacher, K-12 district-wide supervisor, college professor, graduate coordinator and most recently, chair of the College of Education at UMass Lowell (a campus of 17,849 students). She has led projects that include hundreds of administrators and teachers across multiple school districts, many college faculty members, scores of families, and several hundred students, often in multilingual settings. She also secured $2,700,000 of competitive federal and state funds for these initiatives.
Michaela is a problem solver and a consensus builder. She listens and she gets things done.
